Frederika “Fraka” Harmsen is a geologist who has worked within the California State University system for over thirty years. As the Dean of the College of Natural Sciences at California State University at Chico and a Professor of Geology, Fraka Harmsen continued to be active in research. Her interests include marine benthic communities and sediment production, marine proxies for paleoclimate analysis, paleotsunamis, and benthic marine habitat mapping.
